Tribute to Osman Martins and revisits his music.

 

The musicians of this quartet based in Belgium but finding their roots and influences in Brazilian music, have all, at one time or another, crossed paths and often the stage with the Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and composer Osman Martins who lived in Brussels. until his unexpected disappearance on December 25, 2022.

Under the impetus of Tonio Reina (drummer and percussionist), Roberto de Oliveira (trombone, mandolin, guitar & bass), Pierre Gi!llet (guitars and bass) and Henri Greindl (bass, double bass and guitars) came together for him pay a vibrant tribute and perpetuate his music.

Phar Express performs works by Osman Martins, but also personal compositions by its members, thus creating a real group that will last. The rhythms illustrate the incredible diversity of Brazilian music and the compositions also leave plenty of room for the dialogue and improvisation of the protagonists, thus reflecting an obvious "jazz" influence.
